〈 CHARACTER INFO 〉
CHARACTER NAME: Lance
CHARACTER AGE: 28
SERIES: Pokemon Games
CHRONOLOGY: Post Heart Gold/Soul Silver
CLASS: Hero
HOUSING: Heropa, prefer to be housed alone due to having several very large Pokemon.
BACKGROUND: Bulbapedia Entry
Lance is a native of Johto, born and bred in Blackthorn city, where the infamous Dragon Clan resides. In fact, he is a member of the Dragon Clan himself, his grandfather being the elder. Lance's parents were killed by rampaging Gyarados when he was a child, and he was raised by his grandfather.
From a young age, Lance was recognized as a prodigy among the dragon masters of his clan. He had a gift for training the mighty dragon types that his clan preferred, much to the dismay of his cousin, Clair. His first Pokemon was a Dratini, gifted to him by his grandfather, and he diligently raised the Pokemon into the Dragonite it is today. Lance's talent was always a subject of contempt with his cousin, her jealousy being constantly fueled by the fact that he was better than her. He personally doesn't have anything against her, but due to her jealousy, their relationship is a bit strained. This came to a head when Lance successfully completed the Dragon User's Challenge, while Claire did not. Lance went on to become a great trainer, eventually a member of the elite four and after that, the champion.
Lance is one of the strongest and most popular Pokemon trainers the world has to offer. As far as the game goes, he's the final trainer to beat before winning the game (other than the rival in earlier games).
PERSONALITY:
While the death of his parents was traumatic, this event helped to spur his determination in taming the most difficult Pokemon the world had to offer. His talents, fame, popularity, and success, actually bred some arrogance into the young man as he quickly ascended the ladder into elitehood. At the time, he saw his Pokemon more as objects to get him to his goal, rather than friends and companions. That is until one fateful day, when a pair of young trainers from Kanto challenged him. The second one was what really got to him though. Not only was he beaten twice in a row, but there was something different about Red, who genuinely cared about his Pokemon. This experience humbled Lance considerably. He started to take his Pokemon more seriously, as in being kinder to them and raising them in a more loving manner. They thrived under this attention, which led him to eventually becoming the Indigo League's champion himself. No longer did he really care about titles or importance, instead he was a champion and advocate for the welfare of Pokemon. He became a sort of permanently placed champion, as Red turned down the role, taking on challenges from trainers all around the world. He would also go on to participate in the administration of the Indigo League.
A few years after his encounter with Red, Team Rocket would return. While before he hadn't really cared much about the nefarious criminal organization, things had now changed. Lance took it upon himself to investigate when suspicious activities started happening around Lake Rage, where he also encountered another trainer named Gold. He explained to Gold that he was a trainer like himself, not revealing his true identity as champion, and asking for his help. When discovering that a radio signal in Mahogany Town was causing the Magikarp to forcefully evolve, they both infiltrated the hidden Rocket base and worked together to shut it down. When it was seen that Gold was doing well, he even held back and simply watched as Gold finished them off. Lance wouldn't see Gold again until the boy came to challenge him at the Plateau, where he was again defeated. However, this time he wasn't at all surprised and was in fact happy to witness the rise of a great new champion. Though Gold ended up declining the position as Red had, leaving him in the champion's seat.
In summary, Lance is actually a kind individual. He cares deeply for not only his, but all Pokemon. When he meets Silver, he is quick to point out the boy's faults and gives him a speech about how to care for his Pokemon properly. He was genuinely distressed by Silver's attitude towards his Pokemon, as it reminded him of when he was younger. Not wanting the boy to make the same mistakes he did, Lance has taken it upon himself to try and be a mentor to him. However, he does take training very seriously, and is constantly trying to improve himself and his Pokemon. He does have a reputation to uphold after all. A reputation that has earned him quite a bit of fame as a cool, heroic trainer who is among the best in the world. He is also expected to one day take over as the leader of the Dragon Clan, once his grandfather passes away. Something he also takes very seriously, and even sentimentally keeps the dragon fang on his person, that was his reward for successfully completing the Dragon User's Challenge. The man isn't without his quirks though, and he's well known in Celadon for his cape fetish. He goes there periodically to buy identical capes from the department store. Lance can also come across as pretty imposing and intimidating if he wants to, which can be backed up by the fact that he trains giant dragons. While mostly serious and mild mannered, he does come from a clan of dragon masters. Lance has a long fuse, but when its gone, watch out. He's got a flaming temper to match his red hair, with a ferocity to match any dragon. Yet he also has a bit of a sensitive side, one that he hides very well. Being a celebrity is rather lonely after all. He's also quite friendly and personable to those he likes. He'll speak up when he feels he needs to, but back off when it's clear his opinion is not needed.
POWER:
Pokemon: Lance will be coming with four very large and powerful Pokemon. They will be updated to current game standards as shown in Lets Go Pikachu/Eevee.
Dragonite - Attacks: Outrage (A powerful dragon type move that causes the Pokemon to rampage and then become confused), Fire Punch (A fire type move that is a flaming punch), Hyper Beam (A normal type powerful energy blast that a Pokemon has to recover from), Iron Tail (Steel type move, Pokemon's tail becomes metallic and is used to strike)
Charizard - Attacks: Flare Blitz (Powerful fire type move of swirling flames), Dragon Pulse (Dragon type move that is a blast of draconic energy), Hyper Beam, Thunderpunch (Electric move that is a punch fueled by electricity)
Also comes with a key stone and Charizardite X that allows him to evolve into Mega Charizard X during battle.
Gyarados - Attacks: Waterfall (Water type move that is essential a torrent of falling water), Iron Tail, Hyper Beam, Crunch (Dark type move that is a very powerful bite)
Exeggcutor (Alolan Form) - Mega Drain (Grass type move that drains the enemy of energy and the Pokemon uses it to replenish part of its own health), Dragon Pulse, Hyper Beam, Psychic (Powerful psychic type move that is a mental energy blast)
Dragon Telepathy
This power allows Lance to communicate with dragons in a telepathic way and to mentally bend them to his will. This can include traditional dragons or creatures and even people that are dragonlike in some sense or another. This can include certain kinds of dinosaurs, reptiles, monsters, even other creatures or beings with some sort of connection to dragons. Because of Pokemon logic, this can even be something with the word dragon in its name such as dragonflies, or leafy sea dragons. If its even remotely dragonish, it counts.
As far as any characters, this will all be with permission of course and his power will have the possibility to fail if the player doesn't wish this power to work on their character.
Cape Manipulation
This power will cause any cape that Lance wears to become somewhat sentient and able to manipulate just by thinking about it. Somewhat akin to Dr. Strange's cape. The manipulation will be within the bounds of the material of the cape, meaning that its mass can not change or its fabric be altered. It can move freely of its own will, or by Lance's. It has the ability to fly on its own, though it can not cause Lance to do more than hover a few feet off the ground. It can have the strength to pull him, but can not make him fly freely. However, this power will dissipate once the cape is removed from his person and last no longer than one hour once it is taken off, or be immediately transferred to another cape that he puts on.

[Today there is a video from one slightly frazzled looking Pokemon trainer. Normally Lance keeps his cool quite well, but this world is challenging him in a way he never has been before.]
I think every Pokemon trainer dreams of being able to understand what their Pokemon are saying. Conversations can be a bit one-sided. While Pokemon are able to sense our feelings, and some even understand our words, we can only make educated guesses on what they feel.
Now I've found myself with the ability to know what mine are saying, but I'm a bit overwhelmed. It's as if I'm in their head, and I can't turn it off.
Does anyone have any experience with a power like this?
[He definitely doesn't need or want to know what his dragon Pokemon are thinking at all times. Help this poor man, please?]
LOGS POST (PROSE) SAMPLE: Test Drive Sample!
FINAL NOTES: He will arrive with 5 spare pokeballs along with the keystone and Charizardite X needed to mega evolve his Charizard.
